Who would be the audience for your media product?
For my target audience I choose to base in the young adults category, mainly 18-25 years. I think I made the correct decision in basing our film in the age group as feel they will connect the most with our film. Judging by responses from social media to shows such as Top Boy shows that we choose the appropiate age group to release our film on. In addition to the also relates to them in a way as most of the 18-25 year olds would experienced some sort of gang welfare when growing up.
When I was creating my film I thought about what ideas and themes I would need in my film to make sure my target audience is interested in the film. We included things such as youthful actors to relate to them and stereotypical clothes so that it can link to our target audience personalities.
I feel our film will have an age rating of 15 because in our film because we strong language and moderate violence which define the age rating according to the British Film Council. However I do feel this will impact on our audience as it will enhance it. This is because teenagers of that age also interested in films such as our as much as our intended audience, so perphaps it will a positive impact.
In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of a real media products?
In my film I don’t think we challenged any forms and conventions of a real media product. This is because my film follows a broad code of any media products I have studied that’s why they’re a lot of conventional behaviour from the characters in my film, because of similar films such as shank or TV series like Top Boy our target audience expectations on our film will be high due to the high level of the cinematography mentioned above. However as our target audience is aimed at young adults we only rely on their thoughts and opinions of those people.
In terms of title in my film, I feel it’s quite similar to other sorts of film in my genre, consequently making my film very formulaic. Moreover the titles we choose for the film is not only collective but it shows that it doesn’t challenge the forms and conventions of media products. Overall I feel that the titles we choose was the right decision because the titles suit our film because the way it’s created suits the action packed storyline of our film.
I used a lot of audio codes in my film to highlight and show the most climatic part of the film. In the film you can clearly see we used a voice over to highlight the characters feeling and increase the tension in the film because its one of the conventions of the crime drama. In addition to, the soundtrack we used are similar to big films and TV series such as Top Boy so by using similar soundtracks in our film we will give it credibility and also its good to have similar soundtracks because it keeps interest from our target audience as they are used to these type of music.
In the technical code side of the filming we used a lot of industry shardard film shots such as like a POV multiple times in our final. We used a lot of industry standard shots because films and Tv series such as Top Boy, Shank and Bullet Boy utilising these of shots in making there film brilliant. We also used creative camera movement in the filming of our film to make our film more interesting to our audience.
In addition to for the symbolic codes in our film we used a variety of different elements to highlight the codes. We used different setting such as council houses and urban areas in order for the our film to fits the genre of the film we were trying to portray. We also made our characters act and dress as if there were in gangs with wearing hoodies and trainers and also speaking in slang. We did this because this was expected for the type of genre we were tryting to portray.
Looking back at your at your Preliminary Task, what do you feel you have you learnt in the progression from it to the full product?
Going back to the start of the course when me and my group were in the process of producing the preliminary task till now, I can honestly say I have learnt an awful lot about making a film and all the neccessary things needed to make a film to a professional standard. If you look at back at my preliminary task the standard of the film was terribly. The experience from the Preliminary task showed me that without creating a good storyboard your film will always we lacking in terms of quality such as which shot you use for each scene or the location of the shoot. In addition to it I have learnt a lot about organisation and how proper organisation can make your film better. For instance in the preliminary task I had we had people in our group not turning up to the shoot because they didn't know where they were meant to be and also having contengency plans for things going wrong such as the weather affecting the shoot.
In terms of my camera skills, at the start of the course I remember being totally clueless about how to use a camera and even switch on a camera. By far this was my least favour part of the course. But gradually throughout my preliminary task my quality of shot improved. I also learnt about the importance of tripods as without using it the you would shaking shots which will make the film not great.
However when deciding which film genre I wanted to create my film about, it didn't take a whole lot thinking as I knew quite a lot about genres as I watch a lot film and Tv shows everyweek. I believe having in depth knowledge about genres helped me know different codes and convention of different genre therefore helping me out with my own film.I watch a lot of Crime drama based films and Tv shows such as Top Boy and I used those reoccuring themes and ideas in those shows to help create my film similar to those in the crime drama genre. Also since starting the course I feel I have started seeing films in the different light and applying some media knowledge when I'm watching the films.
In my preliminary task I didn't include a soundrack and it wasn't good, but since I how know how important a soundtrack in a film is. Its the different between a good film and bad film as it can convey different meaining to scene therefore giving your audience different interpretation to think about. Througout the course we were shown films with and without sound and it portrays different emotions. I think sound is so important if you want your audience to understand your film.
For the technology side of the course I wasn't really good. But using industry standard equipment helped me in making my final. Using Final Cut X pro was completely alien to me as in the editing stage in my preliminary task I found it hard to use it. Problems such as trying to incoporate sound and cut and improving my footage. But during the course I grasp how to use it well such as how to add sound effects and visual effects.

Voiceover Script
Part 1
*Sigh* How did this happen?
I was on the phone to my baby mum and before I knew it, I was getting ducked out by these waste men. *chuckles*
I knew I had to get away, I could hear them getting closer, I knew I had to put the burners on.
*kisses his teeth*
I thought I left them.
Part 2
I was shaken up, I swear I could hear my own heartbeat. I couldn't hear them, I though I was in the clear. So I looked round the corner and there they was. I knew they saw me, not gonna lie I was tired but I had to run.

Representation of Disability
From what I learnt in a media lesson about the representations of disability in the media is presented in 10 different ways. Paul Hunt, in his 1991 study recognized that the media portrayed disabled people in the following 10 ways:
1. 1. The disabled person as pitiable or pathetic
2. 2. An object of curiosity or violence
3. 3. Sinister or evil
4. 4. The super cripple
5. 5. as atmosphere
6. 6. Laughable
7. 7. His/her own worst enemy
8. 8. as a burden
9. 9. as Non-sexual
10. 10. as being unable to participate in daily life

Regional Identity
The reason why I decided to make a post on this particular subject was because regional identity is crucial part of my film because both the antagonist and the protagonist portray that they are from certain place because they fit stereo types associated with them. Being from the ghetto parts of urban London our characters portray the characteristic of a person from that part of the area; such as them being intimidating which is shown in the film as they scare the victim to hand over his phone to them, another characteristic of the regional identity shown in the film is dislike of the police from the thugs as they see the police the enemy of their freedom. Here are picture below showing the different types of regional identity that can be found in England.

Production Company Logo and Name
When we were thinking about our production company's name we as a group discussed thoroughly what we wanted. We thought our name has to be something that people will remember for years go by when they watch our film. Company names such as Dream works and Universal Studios are names we all remember due how successful their films are but also how easy and simple their names are. So for our production company name we choose the name Revenue Productions because it stood what we believe the production company will do; which is to make money, and everyone will be remember the name as it short and understandable.
